💡 Hide Chat

Especially since I'm not sure hide pms will even work for those who don't use split chat

How does dink handle a fixed screen size player

If you know

https://runelite.net/plugin-hub/show/fixed-mode-hide-chat

nevermind, I found a solution

https://github.com/daxstetko-stack/HideFixedChat

near-zero impact on performance hiding entire chatbox

it never really affected me on dink either, i dont use fixed but yeah

i would occasionally be able to tell it took a screenshot (it'd flicker a bit) but worked great

Yeah its very cheap to do on resizeable mode but I was concerned with fixed specifically

Because there, its not just "hide the chat widget"

It needs to repaint a bunch of stuff

Is this still in the pipeline 👀

yeh

-# (forwarding from a post i made in our dev server yesterday looking for testing): I have a few changes coming in this next plugin update that I want to get some testing on:

• Event team colors / names in chat during an event
• Selecting what player model you want to be represented on your profile permanently (with a button on the side panel)
• Killer names should be more consistently included in death messages
• Death costs (amount lost on death)
• Pet mapping fixes for Aggy / Mr McGroot
• proper pairing for outfits to pbs (for 3d model persistence)
• hide entire chatbox, message contents, or just dms (new privacy modes)

i am also going to be trying to bundle in the customizable death messages

still waiting on this all to be tested. Sorry for the delay

Got like 5 or 6 more people signed up to do bug testing, but none have done any as of yet so basically just twiddling my thumbs

@Velayn

This is now live, very sorry it took so ling

I will ensure I get plugin updates published in a more timely manor from here on, I was just a bit weary on this one

Does it take a bit? i clicked update in the pluginhub and reloaded client and i dont have the hide chat option

still just has hide pms

Ehm does it show version 6.0.7

It should be named privacy mode

Can you send a screenshot of looking up droptracker on the hub on the client

And on the plugin config you dont have a privacy mode option?

But is there not a privacy mode option additionally?

I'm unsure how it could have not made it in that code, quite perplexing

oof somehow i fked up

i will get this pushed in a few mins, it will likely get quite quickly approved so stay tuned

🔥 will test as soon as im able once you let me know its live

Sadly it looks like this didn't qualify for their AI auto-review for some reason

https://github.com/runelite/plugin-hub/pull/16908

But it is pending approval still

Aite

Its been merged

6.0.9 is now live including privacy mode

hell yeah, out of curiosity how does hide messages + dms work

does it just show an empty chatbox?

Yeah
